Since the fifth edition of the Havana Biennial in 1994, exhibitions in the domestic sphere began to intervene in the exhibition dynamics and modify the institutional planning of the itineraries. In addition to the collateral shows, organized autonomously by artists and curators, the contents of the open studios. This algorithm, articulated in an informal and intuitive way for the event, crystallized with the twelfth edition of 2015, which served the international presentation of several of the most relevant independent projects of the local scene. Among them, El Apartamento.

The Cuban art circuit offers an inventory of the work done by the gallery and traces, through its artists, an open map of the 13th Biennial. The overlapping of official and alternative, institutional and domestic sequences can be composed in the captions of the works that include, along with the technical data, each of the presentations of their authors in the 2019 show.
