Paper can be considered an indispensable material in our society. Even with the push of the digital era, its extensive use in the most varied spheres continues to be a cause of severe alterations and political complexities at a global level. Penitencia is, then, an installation and processual project that starts from the natural origin, transformation and use of paper as a raw material. It is constructed on two physical and metaphorical levels closely related by the gesture of symbolically and physically replanting a forest. In this way they are connected in a closed circuit between the two structures. A perfect cycle between the biological and the industrial where metaphorically the forest is given back what has been taken from it. The process from which this installation starts will have its culminating point when each small bush is given to dissimilar visitors. The forest thus spreads, grows spontaneously, uncontrolled, like nature itself. Each person, from their own decision, can not only have their own tree but also take part and contribute to this reality. Thus, what began as an individual gesture of the artist, expands towards the collective.
