A sua abordagem entende a hist\u00f3ria nacional como um campo estruturado por narrativas hegem\u00f3nicas moldadas pelo poder - narrativas que continuam a condicionar as imagens e os comportamentos das sociedades contempor\u00e2neas.<\/p><p>Cabrera interv\u00e9m livremente no passado, questionando no\u00e7\u00f5es de legitimidade e verdade, ao mesmo tempo que reconfigura as rela\u00e7\u00f5es entre os actores hist\u00f3ricos. Partindo de imagens de arquivo e do patrim\u00f3nio, aventura-se em territ\u00f3rios raramente explorados na historiografia cubana e norte-americana. Estabelece di\u00e1logos entre a pintura e as primeiras pr\u00e1ticas fotogr\u00e1ficas, incorporando refer\u00eancias \u00e0s origens da fotografia e aos seus c\u00f3digos de representa\u00e7\u00e3o.
