A tal fine, utilizza strategie di riscrittura, cancellazione, rilettura critica e romanzatura, concentrandosi in particolare su quelle zone grigie che rimangono non documentate o non sufficientemente esaminate. Il suo approccio comprende la storia nazionale come un campo strutturato da narrazioni egemoniche modellate dal potere, narrazioni che continuano a condizionare le immagini e i comportamenti delle societ\u00e0 contemporanee.<\/p><p>Cabrera interviene liberamente nel passato, interrogando le nozioni di legittimit\u00e0 e verit\u00e0 e riconfigurando le relazioni tra gli attori storici. Attingendo a immagini d'archivio e del patrimonio, si avventura in territori raramente esplorati dalla storiografia cubana e statunitense. Stabilisce un dialogo tra la pittura e le prime pratiche fotografiche, incorporando riferimenti alle origini della fotografia e ai suoi codici di rappresentazione.
