Contino’s work ranks among the most distinctive of the new generation of Cuban artists. Although she shares thematic interests with many of her contemporaries, the ceremonial nature of her vision and her steadfast commitment to hand-cut paper set her apart from conventional classifications and national creative lineages.
With more than a decade of consistent work, Ariamna has gradually established her career in the Cuban art scene. Her participation in major international events, such as the Venice Biennale and the Havana Biennale, as well as the exhibition of her work in museums and institutions in various countries—including Cuba’s National Museum of Fine Arts (MNBA); the Museum of Concrete Art in Ingolstadt (Germany); and the Museum of the Americas (U.S.)—attest to the strength of her career.
