Arka is a body of work in which painting, sculpture, and textiles converge. I start with simple forms that I reinterpret, arrange, and configure by assembling, adding, or subtracting, as well as with geometry and color to create new compositions—as a proactive metaphor for alternative ways of thinking about the past through symbolism. Arka presents a micro-universe in which a series of stereotypical theatrical characters move through different settings, telling a story without a linear narrative.
