Miguel Alejandro Machado

Pinar del Río, Cuba, 1990

Miguel Alejandro Machado graduated from the Eduardo Abela Provincial Academy of Visual Arts in 2008, specializing in painting, and in 2015 he graduated from the Higher Institute of Art in Havana. He currently lives and works in Havana, Cuba. His work has always been rooted in painting, with a tendency toward a figurative language marked by self-referential elements: «I prefer not to try to convince myself of anything; I know things without knowing how I learned them, and I do things without knowing why. Each of my paintings interrupts the random, freezing chaos, the present. They are an extension of my existence.».
